Music for two pianos, played by Theo Lieven and Hannes Keller

Theo Liven plays as pianist #1, Hannes Keller as #2. In all these compositions the two pianists face almost identical musical and technical intricacies. In most cases, Theo Liven plays a phrase, then Hannes Keller repeats it with minor variations. Usually, this is followed by a part played simultaneously by both pianists. An exception is the introduction of Schumann's work, where Hannes Keller starts revealing the theme.

Mozart wrote his concerto for himself and his older sister Annerl. At the time they competed as the leading virtuosi.
The competition culminates in the fast passages at the end of the third movement. Hannes Keller used a computerized Yamaha piano as a "sparring partner" to learn his part.
The famous teacher Esther Yellin made coffee for Hannes in the middle of a three hour lesson. Returning she said: "Listening from the kitchen, it sounds quite professional".
