Use now 1 of 3 search engines
1 Search with number of a thumbnail page
All e.g. 17.272 pictures are lined up, the newest publications first. 24 thumbnails are arranged on e.g. 720 pages. You call them by number and click forward and backward. You click a thumbnail and access the picture in 3 sizes plus full page with zoom and pan.
2 Search precisely in the full texts. Enter words and syllables
It is sufficient that you type e.g. eleph to see elephants and elephant moths
Enter a search word or a syllable, e.g. alligat, bmw, crawford etc. Try any kinds of syllables, meaningful or not.
dog cat shows the pictures with both on it, dogs and cats dog or cat shows all picture with dogs or with cats
An empty entry shows all pictures for the selected theme.
3 Search subgroups - get a quick overall look
The full is more precise. The subgroups are computer-generated and sometimes misinterpret the data. The subgroups give a look on the sector content.
The pictures are presented in e.g. 1597 subgroups. Their names are sorted in alphabetical order and presented on e.g. 67 thumbnail pages. Enter e.g. your keyword koala or just the beginning of the word: ko.
It is as if you had opened a phone book. If a name is not listed, you see other opportunities. Each group contains typically a choice of e.g. 20 pictures. You click the thumbnails and reach the full size pictures.
The language translation is not so good for the subgroup search. In German you type "pferde" and will see the "horses". But not everything is so smooth. Limited funds!
Deeper search
This is "mind storming" to find what one did not search. It is the
The Deeper search shows you all search words which are related to a picture.
An example:
Select "animals" - Enter: croco - Click Deeper search on the thumbnail of the crocodile on the left upper corner. Somehow the word cat is related to that picture. Click it. Cats appear. Click on Deeper search on the 4th cat on top line.
This picture has also to do with fame. Click on that word. Click on Deeper search on the 3rd cat, 2nd row.
You find the word buffalo and find also the buffalo himself. Remember: You started with a crocodile.

Soft zooming mode
At least 256MB Ram are needed.
Soft zooming is an advanced PC function taking a lot of computer power.
The start is slow. We are sorry about that.
Press the "start zoom" to enter this mode.
Our hi-res soft zoom and pan mode gives you smooth zoom from zero to big magnifying.
Zoom up: Place the mouse into the picture. Click or hold the left mouse button.
Zoom down: Ctrl-key and mouse button.
Pan: Move the mouse towards the frame. No click or push is needed.
The key "k" turns the command menu on and off (not on Mac and Unix). When the menu is off, you use the control keys.
e or q turns the zoom off and you return to the picture view.
The mirror button
Like a mirror it flips a picture horizontally left-to-right. This is useful because Eastern viewers eyes scan pictures from right to left, while Western eyes scan left to right.
See the details by clicking the info button, next to the mirror button.
